What do you see?

What do you see? Posted by Hello

Scot, what do you see in this picture?

From Scot:
People are so hungry for entertainment!

But then I noticed the title “Passion of Christ.” I’ve seen the Passion of Christ and it most certainly is not entertaining. As a Christian who knows the story well, I was riveted! I also observed others who have seen the Passion of Christ, they did not appear to be entertained. Imagine, the box office hit, “Passion of Christ” in the 21st Century? Who would have ever imagined?

When I look at this picture, I’m reminded about the need and desire people have to see and to know Jesus. I’m reminded about how relevant Jesus is to our world. I’m reminded that “church” is not a place. I’m reminded that church is Christ incarnate! And I’m reminded that God will fulfill His will with or without me.

From Paul:
I know what you mean about the hunger of people for things spiritual. Where is the church being salt God can use to season that hunger? How is the Body of Christ being a light God can use to shine His kingdom? Do we truly and authentically live for the sake of the world?

I see in this picture some potential dark days ahead. Maybe things need to get worse before they get better. Maybe there are some things we need to face, or see within ourselves (let's take a picture of ourselves), in order to be used by God as his instrument for his mission.

I am hopeful, however, just as you say...I am so glad God is in charge and is carrying out his will with or without us. But wouldn't it be much more fun to partner with him?! God might just be "entertained." HA! I couldn't resist. That would be a movie worth watching.

We're Up and Running

Hello Everyone....Well, Scot and I decided that if we are going to start blogging we might as well get serious about it. So, we're up and running. We don't have grand plans for this. We really don't have a lot of expectations. We just want to start the adventurous journey and see where it leads.

One thing is for sure, we both have been sharing a journey of transformation in the past year or two. Our lives are changing. Our ministry is being transformed. Our religious (a Church of Christ heritage in a New England context) and spiritual paradigms are shifting. Perhaps yours have been too. We thought it would be fun to enter the blog world and to see what kind of community can be formed around this journey of transformation. Hey, if it's only Scot and I who listen and as well as talk back and forth, that is still community. But we hope you will join in (you can use the comment link to share, feel free to ask questions, even disagree, but please keep the comments clean and constructive).

Thanks for reading and spending time with us. It's going to be a fun learning and growing experience on the adventurous journey.
